Plant Lectins
Lectins from various legumes have the same tertiary structure but differ in carbohydrate specificity, quaternary association and glycosylation state. the structure of peanut lectin, the two lectins from winged bean, Erythrina corallodendron lectin and Dolichos lablab lectin are being studied by X-ray crystallography to obtain insights into their carbohydrate specificity and the factors governing their oligomerization.
